Alina Duncan is a professional freelance sign language interpreter and the owner of Alina Duncan Interpreting Services and Silver State Sign Language LLC. She holds both National Interpreter Certification (NIC) as well as secondary and elementary Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment (EIPA) credentials. She graduated in 2015 from American River College’s Interpreter Preparation Program in Sacramento, California and has been working in the community happily ever since. She now lives and works in the Northern Nevada region and proudly holds membership with the state’s ADSD Registry of Interpreters, Nevada Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, and Nevada Black Deaf Advocates. She is a Member At Large with NVRID, and she represents BIPOC interpreters in the state as a member of the Interpreter Subcommittee under the Nevada Deaf Commission for Persons Who Are Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
